Janet “Lynn” Carfield was born on December 31, 1953 in Concordia, Kansas to Sidney and Joan (Charbonneau) Allen. She was one of eight children.
Lynn married Vony Carfield on August 9, 1969 in McCook, Nebraska; to this union two sons were born, Terry and Adam. They made McCook their lifelong home where Lynn was employed at Parker for over 35 years until her retirement.
Lynn loved to do crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She also did diamond art in her spare time. Lynn loved spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was her grandkids. She loved going to watch their baseball games. There wasn’t anything that she wouldn’t do for anyone. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lynn passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Community Hospital in McCook. She was 72 years of age.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Sid and Judy Allen; in-laws, Kenneth and Mary Carfield; brother, Bob Allen; and sisters, Sherrill Thayer, Nancy Martinez, and Vicki Lampman.
Survivors include her husband, Vony of McCook; sons, Terry Carfield and wife, Shauna of Fairfield, Nebraska and Adam Carfield and wife, Charity of McCook; grandchildren: Brent (Ashley) Carfield of McCook, Lacy (Thane) Terwilliger of Culbertson, Nebraska, Carlee Carfield (Levi) of McCook, and Andrew Carfield (Lizzie) of Richland Center, Wisconsin; great-grandchildren: Adrianna, Macy, and Daxtyn Carfield, Tucker Ebert, Anthony Veronee, Adalee and Corbin Weatherly, and Emberlyn Carfield; brothers, Mike and Pat Allen; and sister, Sandy Schwab.
Cremation was chosen and services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Burial in the Cedar Bluffs Cemetery in Oberlin, Kansas will follow services.
Memorials are suggested to the family of Lynn Carfield for future designation. Online condolences may be left at herrmannfh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook.
