Lucille Anna Jones

Lucille Anna Overfield Jones of McCook passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was 92 years old. Lucille was born on October 23, 1923, to Lindley McKinley Napoleon Overfield and Ray Anna Kuntz Overfield at Concordia, KS. She was the middle of three girls. She attended grade school in Prosser, NE and graduated for high school in Juniata, NE in May of 1941. She attended one year of college at Hastings College, Hastings, NE. She married Willis L. Jones on May 31, 1943 at Altus, OK where he was in the Army Air Force Cadet Unit. To this union two children were born, a daughter Dianne and a son, Warren. She and her infant daughter resided between her folks and Willis folks in Prosser, NE and Central City, NE until Willis returned home from the war in 1945. She worked for the Red Willow County Courthouse and a Dental Office, but having spent the next 25 years at the McCook Eye Clinic of which she was most remembered, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Methodist Church for over 80 years. She was active in the United Methodist Women Organization. She was also a member of the Ex-POW Wives. Preceding her in death by herhusband: Willis on October 4, 2015, parents, Lindley McKinley Napoleon and Ray Anna Overfield; and one sister, Mina Jane Snell. Survivors include her daughter, Dianne and husband, Larry Radcliffe, of Imperial and their children, Juel Krajewski and Derek Radcliffe; her son, Dr. Warren Jones and wife, Cathy, of McCook and their children, Dr. Melanie Jones-Wier and husband, Andy, Jenica Pauletto and husband, Rodric and Walker Jones and fianc, Donna Stephens; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Ray Celia Frerichs of Juniata, NE; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Memorials may be given in her name to the Hillcrest Nursing Home Chapel Fund. Visitation will be Friday, November 13, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel. The family will be present during the visitation. Friends may go online at www.herrmannfh to extend condolences to the family. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 14, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Doug Griger officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
