Lonnie Jay Loomis, 64, of Morrill, died May 1, 2016 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Lonnie was born July 27, 1951 in McCook, to Reed Jr. and Vonda (Wilson) Loomis. He attended school in Hayes Center and graduated with the class of 1969. Lonnie grew up on the farm and loved the outdoors and working with livestock. He was in 4-H with his horse and was on a horse judging team . Lonnie married Judy Albeke and to this union a son, Richard Blake, was born. Lonnie was very generous to all children, buying most of the toys that went through his auction house to donate at Christmas time. He always helped anyone in need, trusting everyone. He loved hunting, fishing, and all sports, especially Big Red Football. His claim to fame was catching baseball for Bob Fellers pitching. Lonnie and Sheri Mehling were married and they established the Yesteryears Antique Store in Morrill. Lonnies pride and joy was the Sugar Valley Auction House. He held consignment auctions every week for many years. He was known to tell a joke or two when he was auctioning. His favorite saying was me tough like buffalo! Lonnie is survived by his son Richard Blake; mother Vonda; sister LeAvis Sullivan and her dear friend Jay Clarke, her daughter Kristin Sullivan and her grandson Lewis; brother Kirt and wife Sharon, niece Reina and sons Reed, Joseph, and Benjamin; nephew Shane and his wife Yesenia and children Dominick and Estrella; special friend Sheri (Mehling) Derr; and numerous cousins, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Reed, grandparents, brother-in-law Gary Sullivan and nephew Kyle Sullivan. Graveside Service
