Lois May Vigneur of McCook passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Cambridge Manor Cambridge, Nebraska. She was 75 years old. Lois was born on January 3, 1941 at Syracuse, New York to parents, Morris and Evelyn (Potter)Wager. They family moved to Colorado where Lois attended school at Englewood High School, Englewood, Colorado. She was united in marriage to Michael Richard Vigneur on December 31, 1959 in Aurora, Colorado. They made their home in Colorado where Lois was a busy homemaker and mother. Lois was not only devoted to her own seven children but was also a foster mother to over 350 children throughout her 27 years of service and love. The family eventually moved to McCook where life would be a slower pace and quiet for their retirement. In her free time she loved to sew, crochet, and cook. Other hobbies included bowling, cake decorating, and giving endless hugs to family and friends. She was a devout Christian and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Preceding her in death were her parents, Morris and Evelyn Wager; husband, Michael Vigneur; step-father, William Strickland; brothers, Jim, Marty and Bill Wager and Stanley Buck Reynolds; and sister, Ochessa Chuggy Blackburn. Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Tom) Sell of McCook, Jennifer McQuistan of McCook, Sarah Rocha of Aurora, CO and Abby Vigneur of McCook; sons, James (Diane) Vigneur of Denver, CO, David (Kerri) Vigneur of McCook and Nicholas (Erica) Vigneur of South Carolina; sisters, Catherine Hubbard of AZ, Marguerite Helm of CO, Maresse Walawender of NY, Sharon Clark of OK and Carol Strickland of CO; brother, Morris Wager, Jr of MN; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. Memorials may be given in her name. Visitation will be Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Friends may go online at www.herrmannfh.com to extend condolences to the family. Funeral services will be Monday, June 13, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at the Conerstone Church in McCook with Pastor John Albrecht officiating. Burial will follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska at 2:30 p.m. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation
