Lois Mae Calvin, 87, of McCook, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Hermann-Jones Funeral Home from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Peace Lutheran Church at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook. She was born on the family farm, Red Willow County, November 3, 1930, to W. LeRoy and Mae (Schlecht) Carlson in McCook. She graduated from McCook High School with the class of 1948. On November 13, 1955 she married Roger Lee Calvin. In the early 1980s she began her own business as a bookkeeper. Throughout the years, she served many clients and continued to do so until her passing. She was a life-long member of Peace Lutheran Church and lived all her life in McCook. Lois is survived by her sons, David (Sandra) Calvin of Holdrege, NE, and Jerry (Robin) Calvin of McCook; daughters, Diane Calvin of Muncie, IN and Elaine (Larry Stevenson) Callister of Parachute, CO; brothers, Roland Carlson and Harold (Sue) Carlson, all of McCook; in-laws, Gladys Calvin and Keith (Joan) Calvin; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; her parents; and her brother, Robert Carlson. Memorials may be given in her name to Peace Lutheran Church. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook is entrusted with arrangements.
