Lloyd Parsons

Lloyd Parsons, age 93, formerly from McCook, NE passed away at Ellsworth, KS on January 24, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society Ellsworth Village. He was born in Frontier County, NE on July 1, 1924 to Otto and Stella (Morgan) Parsons. He grew up North of McCook on the family farm. He attended Curtis School of Agriculture. Lloyd served his country in WWII in the Army Air Corps and was Honorably Discharged in 1945. He returned to Nebraska to farm with his family. On October 20, 1962 he was untied in marriage to Evelyn Grace Mardis in Des Moines, IA. To this union 2 daughters was born: Beth and Sharon. Evelyn preceded him in death on November 26, 1985. Lloyd drove a school bus for 20 years. Lloyd moved to Ellsworth, Kansas in 1999 to be close to daughter Beth and grandchildren. He enjoyed were gardening, reading the Bible, spending time with family especially the grandchildren, and playing the game Aggravation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Stella; step-mother, Ina Viola Morgan Parsons; his wife, Evelyn; daughter: Anne Wheeler; sister, Linnie and her husband, Ralph Murray; brother, Otto M. and wife, Mabel Parsons; and brother-in-law, Clarence Robbins. Survivors include his daughters Beth Wissing of Holyrood, KS, and Sharon Parsons, Connie Pritchett of Middleton, OH; sister, Stella Robbins of Lewiston, Idaho; 7 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 2:30 PM with Richard Karr officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 2:00 pm till 7:00 pm at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel.
