Lisa M. Butterfield

February 17, 1982 — September 21, 2024

The life of Lisa Marie Butterflied was something you don't find often in a person. Of all things, Lisa loved her husband of 17 years, Elton. With 17 years came three amazing boys, Max, Jett and Tayt. Lisa was a wonderful wife and mother and the lasting impact she left with Elton and the boys will shine through them.

Lisa Marie was born to Michael and Millie (Walz) Cuellar on February 17, 1982 in McCook, Nebraska. Lisa graduated from Republican Valley High School with the class of 2001. After graduation, she attended and graduated from beauty school.

Lisa was united in marriage to Elton Butterfield at the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook. Lisa and Elton lived in Indianola, Nebraska for a short time prior to moving to McCook in 2007 where they put down roots and welcomed their three wonderful children, Max, Jett, and Tayt.

Through the years Lisa had many jobs, but each job she held, Lisa always left with a lasting impact on the people around her. From being a medication aide and CNA at Highland Park, a local dialysis technician, to working with children at McCook Public Schools, Lisa made sure that everyone she cared for, young or old, knew they were

loved and what they all meant in this world!

Being a boy mom meant Lisa would enjoy sporting events, fishing, camping, listening to her boys sing, spending time with Elton, and many different adventures they went on through the years. Lisa grew up gardening with her grandmother and took great pride in her summer garden. Lisa enjoyed baking, canning, and making gallons of homemade salsa. Lisa loved decorating and celebrating all holidays. She loved being able to help friends and neighbors with anything and everything.

Lisa touched the lives of so many people in her short time here on earth. She had a passion about her that was by far untouchable! She knew exactly when someone needed a hug, her witted words of advice, a leading hand, a shoulder to cry on, or a simple Lisa smile. Lisa’s smile is something none of us will ever forget!

Lisa left us way too early, but she left us with three boys that will carry on her legacy. As Jett kept it a secret from his parents, he just made central stars! Lisa was a proud momma and wife and as Jett said to his dad, “momma will never hear me sing!” Elton responded, “yes, she will son, momma will always be right here with us!”

It takes a village bring up children and Lisa was many a part of the village that supported people in this community over the years. Now itis our time to be a village to Elton and his boys!

Love you Lisa, forever and ever!
