Leota May Brown passed away at Community Hospital in McCook, NE on June 26, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer surrounded by family. She was 80 years old. Leota was born in Palisade, NE on May 25, 1934 to Gladys (Sharrah) and Wayne Porter. She graduated from Curtis, NE in 1952. On October 22, 1953 Leota was united in marriage to James Leroy Brown of Trenton, NE. To this union five children were born. After completing his service to the United States Air Force, the couple moved to Trenton, NE where Leota joined her husband Jim in running their own business known as Jims Garage & Upholstery. Leota enjoyed fishing, flower gardening and spending time with her many grandchildren. She was also an excellent seamstress and cake decorator. Leota was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother Matthew. She is survived by her husband James L. Brown of Trenton, 3 daughters Bernice and husband David Gil of Aurora, Co, Brenda and husband Jim Heiney of Brighton, CO, and Robin and husband Chris Klein of McCook, NE, 2 sons Rodney J Brown and wife Sharon of Stratton, NE , Richard L Brown of McCook, NE, 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, twin brother Leo Porter and wife Onita of Wauneta, NE, and sister Sandi Warvi of Cheyenne, WY.
