Leonard The 'Can-Man' H

Leonard Dale Hofman, age 74, passed away at Hillcrest Nursing Home on October 21, 2016. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on April 17, 1942, to Henry Jacob and Letha Katherine (Wegener) Hofman. Leonard attended parochial school at St. Johns, Ash Creek, and graduated from Red Willow High School. He was confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church. He was employed for several years at the McCook Hotel as a desk host. He was probably known better as the can man as he drove his golf cart around collecting cans. Leonard enjoyed music and singing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry in 1996, and Letha in 2006. He is survived by his sister Sheryl and her husband, John Havens, of McCook; nieces Christina Abney, Dana and husband John Rye, and Vanessa Ruggles; nephew Brock Ruggles; and great-nieces, Mercedes and Liberty Abney. Memorial services are planned at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Ash Creek, on Friday, October 28th at 2:00 PM with Pastor Derrick Brown officiating. Inurnment will be in the Ash Creek Cemetery.
