Leonard Everett Bath

Leonard E. Bath age 85, of McCook, passed away at the Community Hospital in McCook on Saturday, September 3, 2016. He was born near Bar Lake, Colorado at home by a mid-wife on May 1, 1931 to John A. and Florence (Girardot) Bath. Leonard attended school in Denver graduating from Denver South High School in 1949. Leonard was employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring after 43 years. On June 29, 1951, he was united in marriage to Patricia Thomas. She preceded him in death on February 13, 2014. To this union two daughters were born: Lori and Kristi. Leonard was a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed sports of all sorts, coaching softball and baseball. He enjoyed golf, bowling, watching football and baseball. He and Patricia traveled and camped enjoying the mountains. Leonard loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Patricia, sister-in-law Ramona Bath. Leonard is survived by his 2 daughters: Lori and husband Gary Metzger of Holbrook, NE; Kristi and husband Gerald of McCook; 4 grandchildren: Amanda, Kyle, Brian and Jeff; 3 great-grandchildren: Derek, Dalton, Rheanna Metzger; 2 brothers: Gerald and wife Jingle Bath of Excelsior Springs, MO; Jim and wife Janice Bath of Denver. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Albertson officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery of McCook. Memorial may be left in Leonards name to the American Heart Association. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00 till 7:00 pm.
