Lavila L. Pollman

Lavila L. Pollman, age 82 of Trenton, passed away at the El Dorado Manor in Trenton on October 13, 2015. She was born in Amherst, Colorado on August 13, 1933 to William and Lily (Gygax) Kalthoff. She attended school and graduated from Trenton High School in 1951. She attended McCook College where she received a Teachers Certificate. Lavila taught country school for several years near Trenton. On February 20, 1955 she was united in marriage to Walter Pollman at the Peace Lutheran Church in McCook. The couple farmed near Trenton. Lavila was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, LWML. She enjoyed her garden flowers, cooking and listening to the Lutheran Hour on the radio. She and Walter traveled to Jamaica, California and often to Las Vegas to the PBR events. Lavila kept a daily diary with the events of the day, weather and farming information. Lavila was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Lavern Lavila is survived by her husband Walter of Trenton; son: Tim of Trenton; 2 daughters: Lisa Mayberry of Colorado Springs, Co; Regina and husband Robert Horinek of Trenton, NE; 1 granddaughter: Amanda Horinek of Trenton; sister: LaDonna and husband Harlan Groothuis of Columbus, NE. Funeral Services will be held at the St John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson 10:30 am, Saturday October 17, 2015. Interment will be in the Trenton Cemetery under the direction of Pastor Bradley Rick. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 till 7:00 pm. The family will greet friends from 5:00 pm; till 7:00 pm. The casket will be closed at the church.
