Kent Duane Martin

Kent Duane Martin, 63, of Kearney died at home on October 1, 2016. He was born on January 23, 1953, to Harold Andy and Helen Martin (Kircher) of Danbury. Kent graduated from Beaver Valley High School in 1972. Kent was a loving father of four, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. Kent devoted a majority of his lifetime helping others seek the peace that his sobriety brought him. He enjoyed fishing, sprint cars, and all things Husker football. He was preceded in death by his stepfather Delmere Thomas, his mother Helen, and father Andy. Kent is survived by sons, Derrick (Kimberlee) Martin of Castorland, New York, Sheldon (Deanna) Martin of McCook, Cody Martin of Lincoln; daughter McCartney Martin of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; Brothers, Kay (Margie) Martin of McCook and Ron (Linda) Martin of Danbury. Kent is also survived by his family at the Ambry Club in Kearney. Memorials may be given in his name. Friends may go online at www.herrmannfh.com to extend condolences to the family. Memorial services will be Saturday, October 8, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Danbury, Nebraska with Scott Inman officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Danbury-Marion Cemetery.
