Kathleen Annelle Jankovitz

Kathleen Annelle Jankovitz, 81 of Culbertson, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 1, 2020. Kathleen was born on February 5, 1938 in Danbury, Nebraska to Benjamin and Retha (Puelz) Boyer. The family moved to Culbertson where Kathleen attended and graduated from Culbertson High School in 1954. Kathleen married Richard Lee Propp on September 16, 1956. To this union 5 children were born. Kalyn, Karla, Kerwin, Rhonda and Scott. Richard preceded her in death on September 26, 1970. Kathleen married Kenneth Lee Jankovitz on April 27, 1974, instantly gaining 5 children. Family was a priority in her life. She enjoyed camping, fishing and sporting events and was an avid Husker fan. She faithfully attended all family events being the first to arrive. Kathleen always hosted the holiday gatherings and everyone enjoyed her generous hospitality. Kathleen was a member of the Culbertson United Methodist Church for over 50 years, busy with church choir, bell choir, teaching Sunday school and as church treasurer. Kathleen was employed at the First National Bank in McCook, Nebraska starting at the age of 16, promoting to Vice President until her retirement in 1997. Everyone enjoyed her friendly smile and excellent customer service. She is preceded in death by her parents; Benjamin and Retha Boyer, daughter, Rhonda Emerson; sister Nada Nokes and husband Melvin, brother, Jack Boyer and brother Wayne Boyer and wife Olive; brother-in-law Dan Lab. Kathleen is survived by her husband Kenneth of Culbertson, daughters; Kalyn (Jerry) Ruzicka, Karla (David) Polly both of McCook; sons: Kerwin (Mindy) Propp of Culbertson, Scott (Tracy) Propp of Trenton, 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Teresa Lab of Columbus; son-in-law Gregg Emerson of McCook. Funeral services will be held at the Culbertson United Methodist Church on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m with Pastor Alisa Parde and Reverend Jerry Ruzicka. Graveside services will be held at the Culbertson Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be left to the Culbertson United Methodist Church or to Home Health and Hospice of McCook Community Hospital.
