Judy Elma Coil was born in Vancouver, Washington on May 13, 1959 to Cecil and Lois (Mitchael) Purvis. The family moved to McCook, Nebraska when Judy was young. She attended school in McCook and graduated with the high school class of 1978. On June 3, 1978, Judy married Steven Osterman in McCook, Nebraska and to this union two daughters were born, Stacy and Kristy. Judy worked as a dispatcher for the McCook Police Department and later as a CNA at care homes in McCook, Trenton, Wauneta, Imperial, and Franklin, to name a few. Judy was an outstanding CNA; she loved being able to care for those around her and had a kind and special heart that made her perfect for the job. Judy married Steven Coil and soon sons, Cody and Cory joined the family. Judy was a hard worker that was happiest when she was surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren that she loved so much. She might have never admitted it, but she loved her dog, Gizmo very much as well. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gene Purvis. Judy is survived by her daughters, Stacy (Craven) Carvhlo and Kristy Osterman, both of Lincoln; sons, Cody and Cory Coil, Both of Hays, Kansas; eight grandchildren; brother, Don (Sherry) Purvis of Kearney, Nebraska; and sister, Faye Morgan of Imperial, Nebraska. Judy passed away at her home in Trenton on Friday, September 29, 2023. She was 64 years of age. Cremation was chosen and private family services are being planned for a later date.
