Joan E. Lauenroth

Joan Elizabeth Beezley was born May 3, 1946, in San Diego, CA to Robert C. and Lillian E. (Counce) Beezley. She died August 28, 2023 after a brief illness. Joan grew up in La Mesa, CA, graduating from Helix High in 1964. In 1965 she graduated from James Hall College of Beauty and married Wayne W. Herald. They had two sons, Nicholas in 1974 and John in 1975. Joan and the boys moved to Hayes Center, NE in November 1979. In 1981 she married Lawrence W. Lauenroth. They had a daughter, Jill in 1982. Joan served as the Hayes County Clerk for many years. She also served on several Committees, including the Hayes Center Cemetery, Senior Center, and Library. She is preceded in death by parents, Robert C. and Lillian E. Beezley; husband, Lawrence W. Lauenroth; son, Nicholas B. Herald; and brother-in-law, George H. Miller. Joan is survived by son, John R. Herald and fianc, Sefuluai Tuigamala of Lakeside, CA; daughter, Jill E. and husband, Franklin H. Pope of Springtown, TX; sister, Jean R. Miller of Hayes Center; and four grandchildren, Caitlin E. and Lawrence H. Pope, Rosann JL. Marrott, and Wayne M. Herald. Memorial services will be held at 1PM on Wednesday afternoon, September 6, 2023 at the Hayes Center Union Congregational United Church of Christ with Pastor Jean Miller officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date in the Hayes Center Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family of Joan Lauenroth for future designation.
