Jay Russell Markwith Sr.

Jay Russell Markwith Sr. age 81 passed away at his home on October 7, 2018. He was born in Culver, Indiana on September 6, 1937 to Roscoe and Grace (Rodman) Markwith. He was united in marriage to Darlene Carr on August 29, 1957 in Ottawa, KS. To this union 2 children were born Vicki in 1958 and Jay Russell Jr. in 1960. Darlene preceded him in death on August 12, 2014. Jay was a man of many talents. He managed several restaurants, was a florist, owned a TV repair shop in Oxford. He was a long haul truck driver for many years. Recently he was employed by the Railroad as a crew transport driver. Jay enjoyed fishing, bowling and an avid reader of Louis LAmour westerns. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Darlene and 2 brothers. Jay is survived by his daughter Vicki and husband Darwin Scott of McCook; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother Bill Little of Grand Forks, ND; sister Jean (Markwith) Schall of Zephyr Hills, FL. and many nieces and nephews. No services are planned at this time as Jay chose cremation and the family is honoring his request. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com.
