Janice Elliott

Janice Marie Elliott was born in Stratton, Nebraska on April 22, 1944 to Dors “Duke” and Eris (Smith) Marquardt. She graduated from Culbertson High in 1961.

Janice married Robert Don Elliott on August 19, 1962 in Culbertson, where the couple lived their whole lives together. Janice moved to Highland Park Retirement Community in McCook in 2022.

After graduation, Janice worked as a bookkeeper for her family business, Elliott Bros Grain until it was sold. She then went on to work for Kugler Co. until she retirement, making countless connections and lifelong friendships.

Janice had many hobbies such as playing cards, crafting, traveling, and chatting with friends. She also enjoyed staying active while golfing, bowling, watching musicals and plays, and walking in the fall. Janice was a longtime member of the Methodist Women’s Group.

Janice Marie Elliott passed away on October 2, 2025 at the age of 81.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sandy Clevenger and Vicky Rehn; brothers-in-law, Murray Rehn and Tom Clevenger; and granddaughter, Ketra Vlasin.

Survivors include her daughter, Natalie (Rob) Maaske; granddaughters, Constance Vlasin; great-grandchildren: Eric Vlasin, Korbin Hardenbrook, Keaton Hardenbrook, Phoenyx Hardenbrook, Maizie Sigler, Zaylor Sigler, and Zander Vlasin; brother, Joe (Joy) Marquardt; as well as a large extended family and countless friends.

Cremation was chosen and services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday afternoon, October 9, 2025 at the Culbertson Methodist Church with Pastor Alisa Parde officiating. Burial in the Culbertson Cemetery will follow services.
