James William Melton

James W. Melton age 96, formerly of McCook, died at the Beaver City Manor on Saturday, July 12, 2014. He was born in Russell Springs, KS to John and May (Wood) Melton. James was united in marriage to Caroline Roach on November 10, 1939. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2003. James worked 16 years for the Gambles stores as a retail store manager and later a trouble shooter for the corporation. He was a singer and a minister at the Assembly of God Church in Trayer, KS for a while. James was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister: Juanita Bunker, brothers: John and Lester. He is survived by 4 nieces: Nelda Waxman, Marilyn Mues, Linda Sandman and Juanita Melton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Herrmann-Jones funeral Chapel of McCook with Pastor K. C. Harryman officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery of McCook. Memorials may be left in James' name at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook, NE.
