Harold Edgar Bose received his heavenly wings on June 27, 2024. He was born on February 12, 1941 to Edgar and Mary Elizabeth (Twombley) Bose on the family farm West of Arcadia, Nebraska. Harold attended school at Arcadia and Loup City, Nebraska. Harold was inducted into the United States Army on December 3, 1963, serving in Vietnam and rising to the rank of specialist. Harold lived in Indianola, Iowa and North Loup, Nebraska, and Palisade, Nebraska. He was a heavy equipment operator, working on many projects throughout Iowa and Nebraska. He also worked for Valley County for many years. Even after retiring, and up until last year, Harold still enjoyed crawling up into the seat of a friends excavator. Harold was a member of the American Legion in Palisade, Nebraska. He loved tinkering on engines and hunting with family and friends. He collected belt buckles, keychains, and guns. Harold enjoyed going to car shows and drag races. Most recently, he loved going fast in his lil green Corvette with the top down. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Alvin Bose. Harold is survived by his daughters, Theresa (Joe) Saskowski of West Bend, Wisconsin and Shelly (Darrin) Harpham of McCook; grandchildren: Jacob Dieter of Altus, Oklahoma, Zachary (Kylah) Dieter of Lemoore, California, Amanda (Kris) Dewing of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Samantha Villanueva of Perry, Iowa, Joseph (Emily) Saskowski IV of Lakewood, Colorado, Haley (Hayden) Hohnholt of Rawlins, Wyoming, and Joshua Harpham of Lincoln, Nebraska; 17 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ralph (April) Bose of Arcadia, Nebraska and Nina (Don) Griebel of Comstock, Nebraska. Cremation was chosen and memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Committal services with military honors at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska will take place at 3:00 PM on Tuesday afternoon, July 2 ,2024.
