Glenn D. Kelch

April 17, 1942 — May 21, 2017

Glenn D Kelch age 75 of Cambridge, passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Sunday, May 21, 2017. He was born on April 17, 1942 in Geneva, NE to John D. and Theresa E. (Becker) Kelch. Glenn attended and graduated from Marietta High School in Nebraska in 1961.

Glenn joined the US Army in February 1964 serving in Viet Nam Conflict. While in Viet Nam Glen was wounded in a skirmish and received a Purple Heart for his injuries. He was Honorably Discharged in February 1966. On April 14, 1967, he was united in marriage to Carol Slonecker in David City, NE. She preceded him in death on August 1, 2010.

Glenn and Carol moved to Colorado where Glenn was employed by the IBM Corporation as a production technician. Glen moved back to Nebraska and in 2016 moved to Cambridge so he could be close to hunting and fishing around Harry Strunk Lake.

Glen enjoyed the outdoors, hunting big game (deer, moose) along with wild turkey. Glenn was a member of the David City VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Carol; father-in-law Virgil Slonecker; brothers-in-law Keith Slonecker and Tom Chavez.

Glenn is survived by his 5 sisters: Sheila and husband Robert L Smith Sr. of Lincoln; Marcia Bobert of Dorchester, NE; Delores Kelch of Lincoln, NE; Kathleen and husband Rick Drapal of Lincoln, NE; Marilyn Bobert of Columbus, NE and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be planned for a time in the future.
