Geraldine Raye Murray

Geraldine R. Murray age73 of McCook, NE died at the Community Hospital in McCook, NE 0n February 18, 2014. She was born in McCook, NE on April 21, 1940 to Kenneth and Nadine (Gragg) Cross. Geraldine attended school in McCook graduating from McCook High School in 1958. On May 16, 1964, she was united in marriage to Charles Murray in Boone, Iowa. Charles preceded her in death on April 19, 2004. Geraldine was employed by the Iowa State University as a cook at the Maple Willow Large Dormitory Complex for over 20 years. After Charles death Geraldine moved to McCook in 2007, living at the Emeritus Willow Ridge. While here she volunteered at the Hillcrest Nursing Home helping out with activities. She also volunteered with the Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting scrap booking and the Red Hat Society. In Boone, Iowa, she was a member of the Sweet Adeline Barbershop singers. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents and husband Charles. She is survived by her 3 daughters: Deborah and husband Roger Ahrens of Huron, SD; Michelle and husband Kurt Bennett of Indianola, NE; Pam Lakabung and Al Venenga of Gladbrook, IA; one son: Kenneth and wife Carla Murray of McCook, NE 6 grandchildren: 2 sisters: Heidi and husband Fred Pinkel; Shannon and Gregg Pevoteaux all of McCook; one brother: Dick and Linda Cross of Venice Florida. Funeral Services will be held at the Evangelical Free Church in McCook on February 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bruce Lester officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone, Iowa. Memorial may be left in Geraldines Name at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook.
