Gerald Lavern Hlavinka

Gerald L. Hlavinka, age 64, of Trenton passed away on February 11, 2017 at his home. He was born in McCook, NE on December 2, 1952 to Edward and Geraldine Mary (Miller) Hlavinka. Gerald attended McCook schools graduating from McCook High School in 1971. He then attended Hastings Technical College for two years. Gerald was employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad as a foreman for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and Husker Football. Gerald attended the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook. Gerald was preceded in death by his father. Gerald is survived by his daughter: Denelle Hlavinka; mother: Geraldine Hlavinka of Littleton, CO; sister: Lynda and husband Bob Fine of Littleton, CO; brother: David and wife Clara Mae Hlavinka of Custer, SD; 2 grandchildren: Jake and Jaycee. Graveside inurnment at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook will be at 11:00 AM on February 24, 2017. Memorials may be left in Geralds name at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook.
