Gene Eldon Frank

Gene E. Frank age 84, of Cambridge, died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE on March 15, 2011. He was born in rural FrontierCounty near Bartley on December 15, 1926 to Jesse J. and Gladys A. (Turpin) Frank. Gene graduated from BartleyHigh School in 1944. He served in the US Army during WW II. He was married to Vera Chavez and to this union a daughter Alison was born. Gene worked for Yellow Freight Lines as a truck driver and later manager of the terminal. He lived in Denver for over 20 years and Albuquerque, NM for 12 years. Upon retirement Gene moved to Cambridge in 1996. To help pass time during retirement he was employed by Faw Motor Company as a driver. Gene enjoyed fishing and volunteering for many local organizations. Gene was known for his smile and good sense of humor. Gene was preceded in death by his parents: a brother: Marion and 2 sisters: Marlene and Donna Mae. He is survived by is daughter: Alison Ponsetti of Golden, CO; step son: Scot Kancillia of Denver: Brothers: Marvin Frank of McCook; Bill Frank of Carpenter, WY. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge with Bill Weaver officiating.
