Gary Clark Mills

Gary Clark Mills was born September 19, 1938 to Clark and Emma Amen Mills at Gresham, Oregon and died peacefully at his home July 24, 2014 in McCook, NE. Gary moved to Culbertson, Nebraska in 1947 with his family. Gary attended Culbertson school before joining the Marines. He served from January 12, 1956 till January 11, 1962 and was Honorably discharged. On October 24, 1963 he married Joan Baumfalk Lytle at the St Johns Lutheran Church in Culbertson and became the instant father to Joans three sons Rod, Steve and Tim. Gary graduated in 1964 from Milford Tech School and was an expert welder. He worked for many years as a millwright worker for Amen, Doak and Hixon Constgruction and was currently working at Orschelns. Gary loved flying, having his private pilots license, gun clubs and his family including his grandkids and great grandson Easton. Preceding him in death are his parents Clark and Emma Mills, parents in-law Harry and Hannah Hein, brothers in-law Donnie Moore, Edward Trupp, Larry Wickham and Kenneth Baumfalk. Survived by his wife Joan, sons Rod(Sandy) Lytle, Steve(Diane) Lytle and Tim(Michelle) Lytle all of McCook, NE; special neice Jeanie Mintzmyer of Mexico; six grandchildren; Jeremy(Ashley) Lytle, Chris(Mandi) Lytle, Josh Lytle, Tanner(Audrey) Lytle, Tenielle Lytle(fianc Barthelemy Yelkouni), Krista(Matt) Gregg and one great grandson Easton Lytle; sisters JoAnn Wickham of Mariposa, Calif, Elaine Moore of Trenton, NE, brothers in-law Eugene(Cleta) Baumfalk, Gerald(Barb) Hein and Bob(Jan) Hein all of McCook, NE and sister in-law Jan Kraus of Ogallala, NE, nieces, nephews and host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 2:30PM at the Evangelical Free Church in McCook, NE with Pastor Bruce Lester officiating. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery, NE. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 1:00 PM till 6:00 PM at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook, NE. Friends may leave on-line condolences at lockenour.com. Memorial may be left in Garys name. Military Honors will be held graveside by the American Legion of Culbertson.
