G. Nadine Nothnagel Vrbas

Gweneth Nadine Vrbas, age 97, of McCook, passed away on April 19, 2024, at Community Hospital of McCook. Nadine was born southwest of McCook on September 25, 1926. In 1948, Nadine married Paul William Nothnagel. To this union two sons were born, William and Micheal. William preceded her in death. The couple made their home south of McCook raising their family. In 1972, Nadine married Stan Vrbas and moved to Stratton. He preceded her in death in 2021. She and Stan moved to McCook due to health problems in 2017. Nadine was a member of the St. Albans Episcopal Church of McCook. Nadines biggest pet peeve was long obituaries. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, William and Stan; son, Micheal; and brother, Ken Peters. Nadine is survived by her son, William Nothnagel and wife, Linda Thieben of McCook; daughter-in-law, Darlene Nothnagel of McCook; two step-grandchildren, Destiny Waterman of Fort Collins, Colorado and Shanna (Jeff) Schulz of Osmond, Nebraska; one step-great-grandchild, Ben Walters; brothers, Phil Peters of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Wendell Peters of McCook. The family chose cremation. Memorial services and inurnment in the Columbarium at St. Albans Episcopal Church will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Father Jerry Jones officiating. Memorials in Nadines name are suggested to St. Albans Episcopal Church in McCook. Friends may leave online condolences at herrmannfh.com. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
