Felix F. Meyerle, age 87, of Cambridge died at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge on August 22, 2010. Felix was born on April 3, 1923 to Charles and Delia (Weyenberg) Meyerle on the family farm north of Holbrook, Nebraska in GosperCounty. He attended country school and graduated from HolbrookHigh School in 1940. After graduation from High School Felix helped on the family farm. In March of 1944 He enlisted in the US Navy. He went to the Great LakesTrainingCenter in Michigan. After boot camp he was transferred to the Sea-Bees at Camp Endicott in Davis, Rhode Island and later to Camp Parks in Shoemaker, California. In August of 1944 he was deployed to the Pacific Theatre serving in Philippines, China and Hawaii. He was honorable discharged in April of 1946. In 1947, he began to work construction in Arapahoe, NE. Felix later helped in the construction of the Trenton Dam. In 1954 he worked for the NSW construction Company till 1970. In 1970 he began working for the Frenchman Irrigation District until he retired in 1996. In 1958, he was united in marriage to Juliane Anna Flugel at St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook, NE. The couple made their home in Cambridge. Felix was a member of the St. Germanus Catholic Church in Arapahoe, and later the St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cambridge. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Felix was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Juliane; one daughter; Gloria P Meyerle of Denver, Co; 2 brothers: Paul and wife Betty Meyerle of Cambridge; Jerry Meyerle of Holbrook, NE; one sister: Lois Bradshaw if Kingsville, TX nieces and nephews. Felix chose to be cremated. Recitation of the rosary will be at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 with Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 Am with Father Barnhill officiating. Inurnment will be in the MillerCemetery north of Holbrook, NE. Memorials may be left to the American Diabetes Foundation.
