April 30, 1933 — January 13, 2016

Everett Lee Stute of Parks, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Sarah Ann Hester Memorial Home in Benkelman, Nebraska. He was 82 years old. Everett was born to Carl Everett and Fern Mildred (Polfus) Stute at Benkelman on April 30, 1933. Everett graduated from Parks High School with the class of 1950. After graduation Everett helped his father with the farming. On June 15, 1952 Everett was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Darlene Penn. They eventually made their home on a farm near Parks where they would raise their children, Linda, Loretta, Lona and Leland. Everett farmed until his health prevented him from working. Everett was a member of the Benkelman United Methodist Church, Benkelman Jaycees, a 30 year member of the Benkelman Fire Department and board member, and life-time member of the McCook Elks Lodge #1434. In his younger years he played softball and basketball. In later years he continued that passion by watching his grandchildren play. He also enjoyed his bowling and golf leagues and watching the Husker and Denver Bronco football teams. Everett and Dorothy loved to travel in their RV. They were fortunate to have traveled to every state in the union and most of Canada. Preceding him in death were his parents, Carl and Fern Stute; his step-mother, Jean (Maxwell) Stute; infant son, Lyndell Everett Stute; infant great-great-grandson, Kayden Dean Donley; and father and mother-in-law, Harve and Emma Penn. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Stute of Parks; children, Linda Martin of Benkelman, Loretta (Bill) Seabolt of Colony, KS, Lona (Jerry) Kisela of Benkelman, and Leland (Christy) Stute of Benkelman; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, family, and a host of friends.
