Evelyn Sue Gray

Evelyn S. Gray, age 71, of Indianola, NE passed away at Community Hospital in McCook on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. She was born in Branson, MO on September 3, 1946 to Eugene F. and Goldie (Gideon) Williams. Evelyn found her way to Russell, KS where she worked as a cook. She later moved to McCook, NE. While in McCook, she worked for Fullers Family Restaurant and in Indianola at Night Tracks. Evelyn moved to Indianola in 1996. Evelyn married Cecil Gillock and to this union one son, Ronnie, was born. She later married Richard Camarata and to this union a daughter, Bernadette, was born. Evelyn later married Fred Gray and to this union three children were born, Tina, Roger and Rick. Fred preceded her in death in 2009. Evelyn loved to go to garage sales, auctions and family reunions. She enjoyed cooking for the family, spoiling the grandchildren and playing Bingo. Evelyn always had dogs for pets. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, John Carey Sr.; husband, Fred; son, Ronnie; and sister, Lyndeanne Lassard. She is survived by her daughters, Tina and husband, Sameh Khalil, of Oxford, NE and Bernadette and husband, Darin Miner, of McCook; two sons, Roger and wife, Shelia Salmon, of Ft. Morgan, CO and Rick Lalan and significant other, Angie Payton, of Lafayette, CO; brothers, John Carey, Jr. of Hoisington, KS, Dennis Carey of Russell, KS, Earl and wife, Becky Carey, of Russell KS, and Robert Williams of RI; sister, Cindy and husband, Donny Krebs, of Ft. Atkinson , WI; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and special people close to her in her life, Jeff Wegele and Michelle Harrison. Evelyn chose cremation with future services being planned.
