Evelyn F Lorentz

Evelyn F. Lorentz, age 79, of Herndon, KS died at the Community Hospital of McCook, NE on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. She was born in Herndon, KS on March 17, 1934to Roy and Viola (Owens) Frick. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1952. She taught country school for one year before moving to Omaha to work for a Savings and Loan Company. Evelyn was transferred back to McCook to work for the Savings and Loan. Later she worked for the Cox Grocery Store and sold Avon. On October 8, 1955 she was united in marriage to Clarence Lorentz in Trenton, Nebraska. Evelyn served as the City Clerk for the City of Herndon for over 30 years. She enjoyed gardening, canning and fishing. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Herndon, Herndon PRIDE. Evelyn was preceded in death by her father Roy in 1981 Evelyn is survived by her husband: Clarence of Herndon: mother: Viola Frick of McCook:2 daughters: Sandra and husband Andrew Green of Herndon, KS; Sherri and husband Carl Stouffer of Schoenchen, KS; 3 sons: Rick Lorentz and special friend Janet Haag of McCook, NE; Rodney and Roger Lorentz of Herndon, KS; 6 grandchildren; one sister :Denise and husband Jerry Holbrook of Crossville, TN; 3 brothers: Arvene and wife Jackie Frick of McCook; Vernon and wife Sue Frick and LaVern and Sharon Frick all of Herndon, KS. Memorial services are planned fo10:30 AM, Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook, NE with Pastor Lynn Reynolds officiating. Family will be present to visit with friends on Sunday 2:00 PM till 5:00 PM at the Funeral Chapel. A family inurnment will take place at a later date at the Emmanuel Cemetery in Herndon, KS.
