Eunice J Mckillip

Eunice passed away peacefully in Payson, Arizona, where she moved with her youngest son and daughter-in-law. Eunice was born on September 9, 1925 in McCook, Nebraska to Elmer Carter and Marie (Hoff) Carter, where Elmer served as a police officer. Eunice had one brother, Dale. Eunice and her family Experienced the Depression in the plains states (that which caused years of drought and the "dust bowl"). Eunice attended school in McCook until her junior year of high school. In her senior year of high school, to support the United States involvement in World War II, Eunice moved with her family to Scappoose, Oregon where Eunice worked at the Henry J. Kaiser Shipyards. Eunice graduated from high school in June of 1944, at which point she and her family returned to McCook, Nebraska. Eunice married her high school sweetheart, Donald J. McKillip on July 10, 1946. The couple had 3 children, Donald Dale; Sandra Kay; and Michael Patrick. Dr. McKillips career in athletics took Eunice and the family from Nebraska to Colorado, Utah and finally to St. Marys College in California (where Dr. McKillip served as the Athletic Director for Saint Marys College, 1970 to 1989). Through 61 years of marriage, Eunice and Donald thoroughly enjoyed their family, currently consisting of 2 sons (and spouses), 9 grandchildren (and spouses), 17 great-grandchildren (and spouses), and 2 great-great grandchildren. Eunice is preceded in death by her husband Donald (2008), her daughter Sandra (2012) and her brother Dale (2019). Eunice will be missed by her family and a host of friends who loved her dearly. Her lighthearted laugh will be recalled with fondness. Eunice will have a Catholic blessing in Payson, Arizona and laid to rest beside her husband in the Calvary Catholic cemetery in McCook, Nebraska Graveside Service Calvary Cemetery Tuesday, February 25, 2020 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM 1402 W J St McCook, NE 69001
