Ervin Pete Mowry passed away June 1, 2017 at his home near Culbertson. He was 59 years old. Ervin was born on June 27, 1957 at Longmont, Colorado to parents, Ordmon Albert and Jeraldean Pearl (Bailey) Mowry. He graduated from High School in 1975, at Commerce City, Colorado. While in high school, Ervin participated in rodeo and took part in the Little Britches Rodeo where he rode bareback horses and bull riding. He worked at Rainbow Bread for numerous years in Commerce City, Colorado. On January 23, 1986, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Jean Teter in Brighton, Colorado. To this union two children, Justin and Sara, were born. In 1991, Ervin moved to the Bartley community. In July of 2007, he moved to Culbertson where he purchased a small farm. He worked for Timmermans Feed Lot for 14 years and most recently for Don Klein and the West Sale Barn as a yardman. Ervin loved his farm where he could keep his horses, dogs, cats and chickens. His free time was spent bowling, archery and rifle hunting deer and turkey, and helping with Fun Days at Indianola where he served as president for a while. His passion was being on his horse whether it was pleasure riding, working cattle, and most of all Cowboy Mounted Shooting. His children and grandchildren were the apple of his eye and he loved spending time with all of them. Preceding him in death were his parents, Ordmon and Jeraldean Mowry; his wife, Bonnie Jean Mowry; infant brother, Ronald Ordmon Mowry; and sister, Roseina Hester. He is survived by his daughter, Sara and husband, Brandyn Nichols, of Eddyville, NE; son, Justin Mowry and wife, Amy, of McCook; special friend, Linnea Ricley of McCook; sister, Pamela Salmans of Greeley, CO; grandchildren, Kya and Alhana Mowry and Karsyn, Kollyn and Keeley Nichols; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given in his name and will be directed to his grandchildrens Education Fund. Friends may send condolences to the family at www.herrmannfh.com Services will be Friday, June 23, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel with Marvin Dale Wilke officiating. A private family inurnment will be at a later time. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial Service
