Edward "Ed" T. Purinton, Jr. age 94, of Cambridge passed away at the Cambridge Manor on February 28, 2015 . He was born at Pueblo, Colorado on December 12, 1920 to Edward T. and Grace (Hutchison) Purinton. His family moved to the farm east of Cambridge in 1921 where Ed continued to live until 2009 when he and his wife moved to Heritage Plaza.
Ed was united in marriage to Maxine Brandt on October 22, 1941 at her parents farm north of Cambridge in Red Willow County. Ed was a hard working farmer and was often seen walking along Highway 6 and 34 east of Cambridge. He enjoyed traveling to Florida for the winter months and spending time with his family.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Helen Purinton at age 12 and Elizabeth Joseph.
He is survived by his wife Maxine of Cambridge; son: Steven and wife Judy of Fayetteville, TN; daughter: Denise Purinton of Orlando, FL; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
Casket will not be opened for visitation. Freinds may stop and sign the Memorial Book on Wednesday , March 4, 2015 from 9:00 AM till 7:00 PM
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the First UCC Congregational Church in Cambridge with Bill Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may leave on-line condolences at Lockenour.com. Memorials may be left in his name at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary.
