Edward Geier

Edward "Ed" Geier, 95, passed away on May 28, 2022 at Chase County Hospital, Imperial, NE. Ed was born March 27, 1927 at Duncan, Nebraska to Martin and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Geier. He moved from Duncan with his family at the age of five to the farm west of Culbertson. Ed fully retired at 93 and moved to Kinship Point Assisted Living in McCook, Nebraska. On January 29,1950, Ed married the love of his life Berneita, (Edwards), in Culbertson, NE. They resided on the family farm and raised their five children: Pam, Teresa, Mike, Randy & Steve. Ed was diligent and creative, which served him well throughout his life. He took great pride in his corn crops, welding skills, everyday tasks and his many inventions. For over 50 years he custom harvested wheat and corn for area farmers. Although his hands were full, he still found time for the recreational sport of local boxing matches. The greatest enjoyment in his life was spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, wife Berneita, son Steven, sister Freida Galetti, brothers-in-law, Jim Galetti, Alvere (Butch) Frecks and Kirk Crowell. Ed is survived by his four loving children--daughters: Pamula (Rod) Ochsner and Teresa (Philip) Pierce; sons: Michael Geier and Randy (Kathy) Geier. Brother: Richard (Marilyn) Geier; sisters: Pauline Frecks and Virginia Crowell; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook, NE on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM with the family present to greet friends from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Culbertson, NE on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery following the services.
