Earl Fredrick Binkey August 11, 1935 - Oct 18, 2018, Stratton, Nebraska Earl Fredrick Binkey, son of Grover & Anna (Hanes) Binkey, was born on August 11, 1935 at Parks, NE. He passed away on October 18, 2018 at the age of 83. Earl enjoyed his time outdoors, engaging in hunting, fishing, and raising champion Redtick coonhounds. Earl also served his country in the Army from 1958 to 1964. During his service, he was stationed in Heidelberg Germany where he met his first wife, Helga Dicenta. Earl and Helga were married in February 1961. To this union, they welcomed two boys and three girls. In July of 1986, Earl married Carol (Ellis) Hafer. Earl enjoyed putting puzzles together, when visiting him there was sure to be a puzzle on the table. He also was pretty good at making goose decoys, it was really hard to tell a store bought one from his home made one. He received a Big Game Trophy award in 1973 for Archery on a Mule Deer. Earl delivered propane throughout SW Nebraska and NW Kansas for years. He enjoyed telling stories to everyone he met. In 2000, Earl suffered a stroke which made his outdoor activities limited. Up until his last days, Earl enjoyed cooking and making his own recipes. One such drink recipe was shared by many in SW Nebraska. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bernice Stoddard; brother-in-law, Dale Warning; and two infant brothers. He is survived by wife Carol of 32 years, of Denver, CO; sister, Shirley Piccola of Las Vegas, NV; children, Gerhard "Gary" (Marie) Dicenta, Fort Collins, CO, Linda (Kyle) Drain, Trenton, Debra "Susie" (Mike) Finnesy and Elizabeth "Betty" (Mark) Wilcox, both of McCook, and Russell Binkey, Indianola; 3 step-children; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a service at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, NE, on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2 p.m. with full military honors. Tyler Thiessen will be sharing a few words. On Saturday, November 3rd, the family invites you to the Trenton Ambulance barn at 1:00 p.m. for a time of sharing. Memorials can be given to: Trenton Recreational Fund.
