E. Lorene Carroll

E. Lorene Carroll, age 105 of McCook passed away at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, NE. She was born in Hopkins, MO in May 10, 1911 to Loyd and Vanchie (Cowen) Churchill. The family moved from MO to Ft. Morgan, CO. On September 14, 1935, she was untied in marriage To Earl Carroll. Shortly after their marriage the couple moved to McCook. While growing up Lorene would prefer to be outside helping her father farm than be stuck inside in the kitchen helping her mother. Thant love of the outdoors continued all her life. Lorene enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, she continued to do so until she turned 98 years young. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting and making afghans for all her children and grandchildren. Lorene kept a diary and wrote in it every night. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Carroll in June of 2000; infant daughter: Donna Jean; daughter: Juanita Weber; son Leonard; son-in-law Darrell Malleck. She is survived by 3 daughters: Lois Malleck of Amarillo, TX; Nancy and husband Bud Boyer of Overland Park, KS; Mary Carrol of McCook, NE; 1 son: Richard and wife Claudia Carroll of Youngstown, FL.; 14 grandchildren; host of great-grandchildren; many great great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Terry McCorkle officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM till 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 20, 2016. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com.
