Douglas Jerome Talle

Douglas Jerome Talle of Maywood, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was 69 years old. Doug was born on December 17, 1946 in Steele County, South Dakota to parents, Leonard Melvin and Ella Artha (Sorenson) Talle. Doug eventually settled in the Maywood community where he worked for Frontier County as a maintainer operator for 32 years until his retirement. After his retirement he started working for Joe Werkmeister doing odd jobs on the farm. On June 4, 2006 he was united in marriage to Sandra Sue (Fortkamp) Swartz at the Christian Church in Maywood. Doug enjoyed fishing, gardening, Husker Football, and watching rodeos. He also liked to cook entering and wining many Dutch oven cook-off contests. Preceding him in death were his parents, Leonard and Ella Talle. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Talle of Maywood; step-children, Troy (Jennifer) Swartz of McCook, Kristie (JR) Elliott of Martinsburg, WV and Shannon (Lori) Swartz of Cozad; two brothers, Allan (Joyce) Talle of West Fargo, ND and Lyle (Shari) Talle from Tualatin, OR; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Memorials may be given in his name. Memorial services will be Monday, July 18, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at the Christian Church in Maywood with Pastor Dale Heimer officiating. Inurnment will be in the Maywood Cemetery. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial Service
