Dorothy Marie Wilson

Dorothy Marie Wilson, age 92, of McCook, passed away at the Community Hospital in McCook on Sunday March 13, 2016. She was born in Kaufman, Texas on February 15, 1924 to Bar B. and Eva (Stanfield) Clopp. Dorothy grew up during hard times, picking cotton to help supplement the family income. On March 3, 1943 she was united in marriage to Allen Richard Wilson in Franklin, KY. He preceded Dorothy in death on November 19, 1999. Following Allen's discharge from the service the couple moved to Montrose, CO before moving to McCook in 1950. Dorothy was employed in the laundry department of the St. Catherine's Hospital. She also cleaned houses in McCook. Dorothy was an excellent baker and was known for her cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed watching nature, but her biggest enjoyment was family especially grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen; son, Glenn Wilson; son-in-law, Larry Leibrandt; two brothers, Raymond and Tunney Clopp; and half brother-in-law, Ted Hilker. Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Betty Leibrandt and Carol and husband, Kenneth Dugger, all of McCook; son, Richard and wife, Jean Wilson, of San Diego, CA; adopted son, Duane and wife, Donna Peterson, of Agra, KS; adopted daughter, Lynn Morrison of McCook; half sister, Frances Hilker of Trenton; daughter-in-law, Julee Wilson of McCook; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren, along with special friends Bev Elmore and Scott Grafel. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 AM till 7:00 PM. Friends may leave on line-condolences at herrmannfh.com. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the McCook Christian Church with Pastor Clark Bates officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
