Dorothy Roth

Dorothy (Baker) Roth passed away on May 31, 2019 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook. She was born on October 24, 1929 in McCook, NE at St. Catherines Hospital to Adam and Mary (Hoff) Baker. She was baptized in the German Congregational Church and later confirmed there. Dorothy graduated from McCook High School with the class of 1947. On January 24, 1948 she was united in marriage to Al Roth. To this union four children were born: Steve, Mike, Jackie and Kim. Dorothy did the usual mom stuff: room mother, Scouts and Brownies. She was a Pink Lady for four years at St Catherines Hospital. She enjoyed the grandchildren and later great-grandchildren. They enjoyed her kraut buns and sugar cookies with lots of white frosting. Dorothy did crossword puzzles, reading, and later her small computer until her eyesight failed due to her diabetes and macular degeneration. She had a faithful companion named Austi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Mary; husband, Al; three brothers, Adam, Bobby and Don Baker; two sisters, Lillian and Ruth Price; two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Nora Roth. Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Steve Roth and Mike and wife, Roxie Roth; two daughters, Jackie and husband, Dennis Ginther and Kim and husband, Randy Bauer, all of McCook; eight grandchildren, Mike, Michelle. Matt, Nicole, Scott, Andrea, Nick and Alex; 17 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. Dorothy chose cremation with graveside services. A book signing will take place at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 10:00 AM till 5:00 PM. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com. Graveside services will be held at the Riverview Cemetery of McCook on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Mike Roth giving words of Comfort. Memorials may be left in Dorothys name to Hillcrest Nursing Home, First Congregational Church or the McCook Humane Society. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook entrusted with arrangements.
