Dorothy Evelyn Premer

Dorothy E. Premer age 91 formerly of Bartley, Ne died at the Golden Living Center in Cozad on Saturday, October 23, 2010. She was born in Wilcox, NE on May 25, 1919 to Isaac Newton and Nellie (Karshner) Rosier. The family moved to north of Bartley when Dorothy was quit young. Dorothy attended school in Bartley through the 8th grade. She later earned her GED from Mc Cook Community College. Dorothy was united in marriage to Elbert E. Premer on May 15, 1940 at Bartley. Elbert preceded her in death in 1991. Dorothy was self employed installing wall paper in many homes through out the area. Later in her life she was employed by the city of Bartley as the librarian. Dorothy enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens and canning. She bowled and also loved to travel. She had taken a trips to California and to Niagara Falls, NY with her son Gene and wife Sylvia in the last several years. She and Elbert traveled after retirement. She was an accomplished quilter. Dorothy always had a quilt on the rack and even quilted after she was in the nursing home. She was a member fo the Busy Bee Club of Bartley and the Quilters Club of Mccook. She and Elbert were both baptized in the Christian Church of Bartley in 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Elbert; 2 sisters: Iva Zeller; Sylvia Moore; 2 brothers: Lloyd and Vernon Rosier. Survivors include her 2 sons: Gary and wife Bev Premer of McCook, NE and Gene and wife Sylvia Premer of Lancaster, CA; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Doris Premer of Lakewood, CO; Eldora Allen of Cambridge; 2 sister-in-laws: Vesta Premer and Leona Rosier, both of Cambridge. Funeral services will be held at the Bartley Christian Church on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Clark Bates officiating. Interment will be in the BartleyCemetery. Memorials may be left in Dorothys name at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge. Visitation for Dorothy will be from 6 PM till 9 PM on Monday, Tuesday from 9 AM till 9PM.
