Dorothy Jean Lambert was born on September 30, 1935 to Clarence and Florence (Thompson) Jussel in Beardsley, Kansas. She attended school in Dundy County, Nebraska and graduated from Parks High School. On May 15, 1954, Dorothy was united in marriage to Clifford Dale Lambert in Haigler, Nebraska. To this union four children were born: Jim, Terry, Roger, and Susan. Dorothy and Dale made their home in Benkelman, Nebraska for a short time before settling in Trenton, Nebraska. Dorothy was compassionate about helping others and was employed at the El Dorado Manor Nursing Home in Trenton. Dorothy was quite artistic and enjoyed sharing her talents with the residents by decorating the home for holidays and special occasions. Dorothy was a member of the Methodist Church in Trenton and was passionate about the local community. She was a member of the quilting club, enjoyed playing bridge, and was a longtime member of the MNO "Mothers Night Out" club. Dorothy was a skilled seamstress and quilter. She would spend countless hours sewing clothes and quilts. Dorothy especially enjoyed sharing her quilts with friends and family. Dorothy passed away August 22, 2022 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook. She was 86 years of age. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford (Dale) Lambert; grandchildren, Ryan and Dustin Scott; and brothers, Keith, Eugene, and Clarence Jussel. She is survived by her children; Jim (Carolyn Rewitzer) Lambert, Terry Lambert, Roger (Roberta) Lambert, and Susan Dishman; 9 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Delores (Richard) Stahly and Betty Yonkers; as well numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon, August 28, 2022 from 2PM-5PM at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Monday morning, August 29, 2022 at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Interment will follow services in the Benkelman Cemetery, Benkelman, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the family of Dorothy Lambert for future designation. Online condolences may be left at herrmannfh.com.
