Doris Laverne Mosher

Doris l. Mosher age 91 of McCook, Nebraska died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney on April 1, 2014. She was born in McCook, NE on May 25, 1`922 to Clyde and Jessie (Beebe) Bortner. She attended country school and graduated from UNSTA at Curtis, Nebraska in 1941. Doris worked as a telephone operator when she first met Evert. On July 3, 1943 she was united in marriage to Evert Mosher. He preceded her on death on July 26, 2011. Doris and Evert made their home on a farm north of McCook on the Red Willow Creek. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter Eureka 86. Doris was active in the Garden Prairie Church north of McCook; working the farmers market and many other fund raising activities. She enjoyed puzzles was an avid reader of western novels, card player. She made doll furniture out of tin cans, fabric painted quilts and throws for family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Evert; brother: Melvin and wife Barbara Bortner ; grandson: Michael Foxworthy; granddaughter: Tiffany Dawn Mosher. She is survived by her daughter: Gloria husband Darold Foxworthy of Parker, CO; 2 sons: Dan Mosher of McCook, NE; Ed and wife Edie of Cheyenne, WY; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the Garden Prairie Church of McCook, NE on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Bonnie Forney officiating. Eastern Star service for burial will be performed by the Eureka Chapter. Interment will be at the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
