Donna June Stewart

Donna June Stewart passed away Tuesday April 4, 2017 at Independence House Assisted Living in Lincoln, NE. She was 86 years old. Donna was born June 23, 1930 to Verle and Garland (Turpin) Moore north of Bartley. Donna graduated from Bartley High School and earned her teaching certificate which she used to teach country school for a short time. On June 30, 1950, Donna married Kenneth Stewart. They made their home north of Bartley for 60 years before moving to Lincoln in 2010. They had two children, Robert Alan and Diane Marie. Donna was a homemaker and farmed alongside her husband. She was a member of the Dry Creek Homemakers for many years. She loved spending time with her family. Preceding her in death were her parents, Verle and Garland Moore; son, Robert Stewart; grandson, Dennis Stewart; brother, Robert Moore; sister, Nadina (Moore) Vontz; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna (Stewart) & Myrlin Burton; and brothers-in-law, Lynn Kerst and William Vontz. Donna is survived by her husband Kenneth Stewart of Lincoln; daughter, Diane and husband, Doug Pfanstiel, of Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Jeannine Stewart of Lincoln; grandchildren, Rebecca, Tyler, & Ashley Stewart, Lineva (Stewart) Matzke, Chase & Breanna Pfanstiel; great-grandchildren, Kayla & Alexis Minary, Isabella & Jaxson Condon; brother, James Moore and wife, Jackie of Bartley; sister, Carol Ann Kerst of Bartley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be given in her name to the Alzheimer's Association. Visitation will be Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Friends may send condolences to the family at www.herrmannfh.com Funeral service will be Monday, April 10, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Dave Davidson officiating.
