Donald Edmund Lawson

Donald E. Lawson age 76,of Concordia, KS formerly of Norcatur KS, died at the Mount St. Josephs Nursing Home in Concordia, KS. He was born on the family farm near in Norcatur, KS on July 12, 1937 to Earl E. And Maleta (Reichert)Lawson. Don Graduated from Oberlin High School in 1955. He served in the US Army for 2 years returning to the family farm 2 miles north of Norcatur. Don married Charlotte Uhrich and to this union two sons were born: Doug and Steve. Don dedicated his life to the care of his two sons. Don loved the outdoors: hunting pheasants, deer hunting, target shooting and fishing. The last few years he enjoyed working in his yard. Don farmed most of his life near Norcatur. Upon retirement in 1991, Don has lived the last 23 years in Oberlin, KS. He recently moved to Concordia Kansas to Mount St. Joseph Senior Village. Don is survived by his 2 sons: Doug and Steve both of Concordia, KS; one sister: Betty Louise Huff and husband Dean Huff of Olathe, KS and one brother: Gerald and wife Janice of Centennial, CO. Memorial services will be held Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the First Congregational Church in McCook with Pastor Steve Bales officiating. Inurnment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery in Oberlin, KS. Memorials may be left in his name at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook.
