Donald Wayne Hawkins

Donald Wayne Hawkins, 80 passed away October 8, 2016. Born in LaJunta Co. Don was a very loving husband, friend and soul mate to Sandie for 40 years. In addition to his wife he is survived by sons, Rodney, Ken, Gary and Faron; siblings, Faye, Bill (Mary), Judy (Richard); sisters and brothers in law, Wynona, Gene and Norma (Jim); grandkids, Rodney Jr., Aleah, Bree, Dustin, Jordan; numerous great grandkids, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Maggie and Tom, brother Jerry and sisters Desi and Sue; brother in law Hiram, in-laws Edna and Jim. Don retired from Qwest (Mountain Bell) after 38 years of service. He was president of the CWA Union for 10 years and was on the bargaining committee for Dist. 8 contracts. He was also affiliated with the Telephone Pioneer Club. Don was a member of Eagles #145 and a Life Member of Elks #90. The family of Don wishes to extend its sincere thanks to many family members as well as our very dear friends who have given us their love and support through this very difficult time for Sandie and their sons. Graveside services will take place Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Bartley Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Wolf officiating. Friends may leave ononline condolences at herrmannfh.com.
