Donald W. Daub, Jr.

Donald Wayne Daub, Jr. was born in Pueblo, Colorado on June 20, 1961 to Donald Wayne, Sr. and Dolores (Madrid) Daub. Don attended school in Erie, Colorado, attending Erie Junior and Senir High Schools. He furthered his education at the CDC Trade School in Colorado where the skills were planted for Don to begin a lifetime career as a welder.

Donald was united in marriage to Carolyn Kleiboeker on March 1, 1980. Don and Carolyn settled in Colorado where they welcomed their three children, Donald, Sarah and Kenneth. On December 31, 1995 Don married Cheryl Laundry, the couple made a home in Nebraska.

Don held many positions for companies in Colorado and Nebraska in his lifetime and made countless connections with coworkers and customers. He worked for Clark Custom Homes, Bobcat, Timpte and Rmtor Gas. Rocky Mountain Natural Gas was Don’s last career stop. He medically retired in 2008 after many years as a pipeline welder.

Don was a member of the American Poolplayers Association. He enjoyed playing pool, hunting, fishing and working on cars. Don also enjoyed attended stock car events. He was happiest when surrounded by friends, family and his grandchildren.

Donald Wayne Daub, Jr. was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away on Wednesday morning, September 3, 2025 at his home in McCook. He was 64 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Wayne, Sr. and Dolores Daub and his son, Donald Wayne Daub, III.

Survivors include his daughter, Sarah Daub and Tim McMains of North Platte, Nebraska; son, Kenneth Daub and Rachel Daub of McCook; daughter-in-law, Delores Sportsman of Kanorado, Kansas; grandchildren: Adonica Daub, Meka Daub, Donald Daub, IV, Xander McMains, Evelyn Eaton and Brylee Daub; siblings, Mona and Tom Blazon of Erie, Colorado, Donna and Pam Schlote of Florence, Colorado and Jerry and Wes Norvell of Las Cruses, New Mexico; as well and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life Service is being planned for Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the 4-H Building on the Red Willow County Fair Grounds. Don’s family will greet friends during the day, beginning at 10:00 AM and ending at 5:00 PM; please come when you can.
