Diane Marie Gohl

Diane Marie Gohl, 70, of McCook, NE, passed away on December 29th, 2020 surrounded by family after a valiant battle with bile duct cancer. Diane was born on January 1st, 1950 to Lowell and Elaine Gehring in West Union, IA. She married her high school sweetheart, Lynn Fox, in 1967. After graduating from MFL Community High School in 1968, she went on to build a family of two children, Kim and Nick. Eventually starting her own cleaning business, which she successfully managed for 30 plus years around Johnson Lake, NE. She always enjoyed her community of friends at the lake and cherished the fond memories. After the passing of Lynn in 2007, she met the next love of her life, Jerry Gohl. Both families united and she gained two stepchildren, Brenda and Neil, along with their spouses and more grandchildren! After retiring in 2012, Diane spent her time traveling the world with Jerry, enjoying sunny days by the pool with family and friends, tending to her flower gardens, SHOPPING!!!, and spoiling her nine grandchildren (which was by far her favorite activity). Throughout her life she was known for her contagious and caring personality that shined on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She always put others first regardless of the distance between them and was an inspiring example of a great human being. Diane was preceded in death by her first husband Lynn Fox. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Gohl of McCook; father, Lowell (Barb) Gehring of Kearney; mother, Elaine Gehring of West Union, Iowa; daughter, Kimberly (Randy) Perlis of Aurora, Colorado; son, Nick (Julie) Fox of Elizabeth, Colorado; step-daughter, Brenda (Ryan) Khoury of Omaha; step-son, Neil (Sarah) Gohl of McCook; nine grandchildren: Lauren, Tony, and Michelle Perlis, Jackson and Natalie Fox, William and Hunter Khoury, Clayton and Lucas Gohl; sister, Carolyn (Jon) Chapman of Elgin, Iowa; brother, Roger (Sandy) Gehring of Strasburg, Colorado; sister, Denise (Loren) Walch of Postville, Iowa; brother-in-law, Tom (Vickie) Gohl of Hayes Center; sister-in-law, Patty Gohl of Culbertson; brother-in-law, Rick (Bobbie) Gohl of Culbertson; brother-in-law, Kenny Fox of Elwood, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Wally Fox of Elwood; sister-in-law, Sally Fox of Montrose, Colorado; as well as extended family, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. (CT), Saturday afternoon, January 2, 2021 at Peace Lutheran Church in McCook with Pastor Lonnie Felcher officiating. Interment will follow services in the Culbertson Cemetery in Culbertson, Nebraska. Visitation will be held on January 1, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.. The family requests that masks be worn to the visitation and to services; social distancing is recommended. Funeral services will be live streamed on the Peace Lutheran Facebook Page for those that cannot attend. Memorials are suggested to the family of Diane Gohl for future designation.
