Diane Marie Bryant

Diane Marie Bryant passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 17, 2019. She was 74 years old. Diane was born on January 11, 1945 at Hastings, NE to parents Elton and Jessie (Ball) Morgan. On February 4, 1960 she married Keith Hackney in McCook. To this union three children were born; Cindy, Beth and Jim. Diane later married Wayne Bryant on November 6, 1986. With this marriage she added three more children to her family; Jerry, Steve and Barb. Diane worked as a retail clerk, department manager and customer service manager for over 30 years at Gibsons and Alco, in McCook. She was known for her service by many customers and co-workers, retiring after the store closed. Diane was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church and the Sarah Circle. She was secretary and treasurer for McCook Elks Lodge 1434 for many years and volunteered many hours at the McCook Pantry. Diane and Wayne served as hosts during the summer months at Red Willow campground for several summers. They loved traveling and dancing. Diane enjoyed accompanying Wayne to Golden Gloves matches, watching Jeopardy and Soap Operas, cooking and following the activities of her children and grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, Elton and Jesse Morgan; loving husband Wayne; daughter Cindy Waddell; and sister, Sue VanKirk. She is survived by her children Jim (Michelle) Hackney of Firestone, CO; Beth (Jeff) Crick of McCook; Jerry (Chris) Bryant of Lincoln; Steve (Cathy) Bryant and Barb (Mike) Esch all of McCook; grandchildren Jessica Meyer , Brandon Crick, Nathan Crick, Alec Hackney, Alece Hackney , Carrie Smith, Aaron Waddell, Kalen Waddell, Jeremy Bryant, Jordan Bryant, Jen Brown, Lindsey Stewart, Matthew Esch, Lamar Christen, Jason Bryant, Jillian Hamburger, Jonathan Bryant, Joanna Krenik, Jarod Bryant and Jaden Bryant; sister Sharon King of McCook; brother Jerry Morgan of Jacksonville, FL.; 30 great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends. Memorials may be given her name to the Memorial United Methodist Church, 105 East E Street, McCook or the McCook Pantry, 509 West 1st Street, McCook. Visitation will take place Friday, December 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel, in McCook. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 21st, at Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Kelley officiating.
