Dennis G. Schoup

Dennis G. Schoup, formerly of Stratton, Neb., passed away in Alliance, Neb. on Monday, July 17, 2023. Dennis was born to Cliff and Carol (Klooz) Schoup on July 9, 1962 in McCook, Nebraska. Dennis attended school in McCook graduating from high school in 1981. He went on to college, graduating from both McCook Community College and University of Nebraska at Lincoln, studying wildlife management. His job experiences led him to work for the Carlson Brothers on the farm. Dennis worked as a tire specialist for Wheelers for many years. The job Dennis really wanted and was employed with, for almost 25 years, was working for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad out of Alliance, Neb. Dennis loved to watch sports and played some, when he was younger. He was also a history buff, and finally got one in the family that enjoyed it as much as he did, in his younger nephew, Aaron. Dennis enjoyed old movies that he could watch on TCM. Dennis was raised in the Lutheran Church. Those preceding him in death were his parents, Cliff and Carol; sister, Deb; his grandparents. Those left to celebrate his life are his sister, Kathy and husband, Kevin Goforth of Greeley, Colorado; brother, Keith Schoup of Stratton, Nebraska; nephews, Nathan and Aaron Goforth, both of Colorado; nieces, Abi Schoup of New Zealand and Hannah Schoup of Laramie, Wyoming. Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be Saturday afternoon, August 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church, McCook, with Pastor Lonnie Felcher officiating. Inurnment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to family through herrmannfh.com.
