Debra Dee Cemer-Zajicek, age 62, entered eternal rest on September 20, 2018 at Lincoln, Nebraska. Debra was born on October 12, 1955 in Oberlin, Kansas to Pauline P. (Warburton) Cemer and Raymond G. Cemer. She grew up near Trenton, Nebraska as the oldest to three siblings. The Cemers moved to Wilber, Nebraska where Debra graduated from Wilber-Clatonia High School in 1973. There she met Richard Zajicek, whom she married in June 1976. The Zajiceks moved to Chicago, Illinois so that Rick could attend Illinois College of Optometry. In 1980, Debra was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis and gradually lost mobility in her legs after several surgeries to remove tumors as a result of the disease. Daughter Nicole was born in 1982, much to their great joy. The Zajiceks made their home in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Rick practiced optometry in Chicago, Illinois, and Debra was his temporary office manager for 25 years. In 2005, Debra and Rick separated, and she moved to San Antonio, Texas to spend time with her mother, Polly, and sister, Valerie and family. Debra later returned to Nebraska and made her home in Crete. In 2011, Debra became a grandmother for the first time. She greatly enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and talking to them via phone whenever she could. Debra was a gifted seamstress who made each of her daughters Halloween costumes. She was a devoted Bible scholar who often volunteered through her church in Crete. Debra is preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Raymond Childs; cousin, Lana (Hanes) Keller; brothers-in-law, Richard Waguespack and Robert Fahrnbruch; and pets, Princess and Zoe. She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Wise (Bradley); grand-children, Quinn and Ethan Wise; siblings, Curtis Cemer (Diane), Heidi Fahrnbruch, and Valerie Waguespack; nieces, Morgan Fahrnbruch and Olivia Waguespack; nephews, Cory Cemer (Amber), Boe Cemer, Tyler Fahrnbruch (Britta), Nathan Waguespack (Shelley), and Bryce Waguespack; three great-nieces, two great-nephews, numerous cousins; dear friend, Erin Wendelin; and beloved pet, Lexi. She also leaves behind many friends from over the years spent in Wilber, Elk Grove Village, San Antonio, Crete, Omaha, and Lincoln. The family requests that memorials in Debras memory go to The Childrens Tumor Foundation (www.ctf.org) or the Madonna Foundation. There will be no public viewing the casket will be closed.
