Deanna Miller

Deanna Miller, 64, of Arapahoe died July 31 at Lincoln Heart Hospital. A memorial service will be Saturday, Aug. 8, at 10:30 a.m. at Lockenour-Jones Funeral Home in Cambridge.

She was born Nov. 20, 1951 at Norton, Kansas, to Harold and Helen (Ridpath) McChesney. After being raised in Lebanon, she graduated from Beaver Valley High School in 1970 and the McCook Beauty Academy .

Upon graduation, she worked as a beautician in Indianola and later operated two beauty salons, Magic Mirror in Danbury and Leather & Lace in Lebanon. In the 1990s, she worked in a label factory at Holdrege and later became a certified nursing assistant. She worked at rest homes in Beaver City and Arapahoe until recent years when her health began failing.

Deanna loved gardening and gathering with family. She also was a charter member of the Lebanon Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold. She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Ron Miller of Arapahoe. Other survivors include her mother, Helen McChesney of Cambridge; son Justin (Cricket) Haag of Chadron; daughter Melissa (Jason) Stewart of Lexington; grandchildren Sawyer and Kiera Haag of Chadron, and Hunter and Delaney Stewart of Lexington; sister Melody (Daryl) Brown of Cambridge; brother Rick (Jimi) McChesney of Safford,Arizona; brother Bob (Karen) McChesney of Mansfield, Texas, along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
